What a blessing it was to have the opportunity to go with Michelle's sweet family for the BIG ultrasound!!! It was amazing to see on that big screen the precious parts of this perfect baby formed in Michelle's womb. It was SO awesome to see all the parts of the body. At one point this baby girl totally gave the thumbs up. That was so encouraging to me.....that little thumb up as in I'm ok. (Colby wanted to know if she was sucking on it. ha) We did see she is definitely a girl so pink for us once again. Now I will have two grandsons and two granddaughters! Michelle will go back in a couple of weeks for another ultrasound as this sweet pea was so far down it was hard to get really good measurements but that is awesome as one more time to see her.
Statistically this is where the baby is: How your baby's growing: Head to rump, your baby is about 5 1/2 inches long (about the length of a bell pepper) and she weighs almost 7 ounces. She's busy flexing her arms and legs. Her blood vessels are visible through her thin skin. A protective covering of myelin is beginning to form around her nerves, a process that will continue for a year after she's born. Her uterus and fallopian tubes are formed and in place. ....... How cool is that!
Colby and Melissa are beyond excited! They wanted to tell everyone they met they were having a baby sister. Colby says he wants to rock the baby. Melissa wants to name her Bella. There are lots of fun days ahead...and fun questions!! :)
