I traveled a road today that had a lot of construction on it so on my return trip home I took a different route that had me in neighborhoods I had not been in in a loooong time. As I was driving I couldn't help but reflect on the time we first moved to the Cypress area. At that time Terry worked two jobs so we could afford for me to stay home and take care of our baby. We were determined not to put her in day care and not a day goes by I am not thankful for a husband that wanted that as much as I did.
In 1976 Michelle and I would just get out and drive around since the days could get really long. Cypress was not near as populated back then as it is today so I enjoyed the drive and Michelle loved looking out the window. Thinking about those days led me to reflect on all that has changed over all those years. We've lived through lots of wonderful times and lots of hard times. It would of been nice if at that time I could have the vision I do now of how good things would turn out.
God's word tells me that when the times are hard that as I give it to Him and try to walk in His ways HE will protect me and bring good out of bad. Do I really get that? At the time you go through the hard times .....it is so.....hard. I must be better about encouraging myself that it will get better....in HIS time....in HIS way.
What a great illustration when I look at Joseph's life in the Bible. When he was thrown in that pit, sold into slavery, accused of horrible things and thrown into prison there is no way he could envision what was to come. How could he imagine how powerful he would become and how sweet it would be to reunite with his father. I think possibly he was like me in the hard times just crying out to God ..... trusting. I trust you Jesus, I trust you Jesus had to of gone through his head.
I praise God for the many things He has brought me through and the awesome times I have witnessed.
