September Simmers

September has been full of activities. We all gathered for Carlee's birthday to grill burgers. It is always fun to have the group together and just sit around and visit.

Michelle has began homeschooling Colby for kindergarten this year. She certainly is organized with it and has put in a lot of investigation and time to determine the best curriculum and set up their area. Melissa loves it as she thinks she is in kindergarten also. Everything is going really well. They are part of a homeschooling group which makes it nice for extracurricular activities. Since she homeschools 4 days a week every other Friday Mom and I do field trips with them. They are a LOT of fun, usually Carlee and William come with us also. Melissa loves her baby cousin she calls "baby buddy" and wants to take him everywhere. It is absolutely awesome Michelle has a van so we can all ride the "bus" together.

We went on a tour of the Blue Bell Ice Cream factory in Brenham one rainy Friday. Blue Bell Homemade Vanilla is the best ice cream in the world. Colby loved looking at all the machines and had lots of questions. He has such a large imagination and huge vocabulary you never know what question he will have or sound he will make.

Another Friday we traveled to the Mercer Gardens. It was so nice there....beautiful flowers and huge butterflies. The whole area is laid out so nicely. The grandkids all had such fun running and enjoying the outdoors. It could of been cooler outside...and then again it could of been a lot hotter. :) Everyone in Houston is certainly looking forward to some cooler weather!
